As part of a special feature, “Blacks In and Out of the Box” at the California African American Museum will show photography, specifically images depicting or taken by African Americans.
One photographer to be featured will be work by Kimara Dixon. Known for her atmospheric portraits and was Michael Jackson’s official photographer during the Thriller years.
From comical to historical to the politically charged, the wide selection of images strongly states the impact African Americans have had on the current artistic and commercial worlds of photography.
