As tickets for the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert “Michael Forever” go on sale this Wednesday, we as many other Michael Jackson fans are unhappy about this forthcoming event. And already fans are making their feelings known publicly online going as far as to say boycot the show.
There are many reasons for skepticism since the initial announcement was made. The timing couldn’t be more wrong given the trial of Dr.Murray – this in itself is inappropriate, not only for the sensitivity of the matter. It just shows a lack of love and care for both Michael and his fans. Then there’s the cost of the tickets, and this seriously gives doubt to the motivation behind the show.
The tribute concert has already been flawed with delays and mediocre tribute artists (not forgetting the Kiss saga). Not only that, the organizers will have less than six weeks to sell 72,000 tickets. If they only sell 10,000 tickets – will the show go ahead? If we where in their shoes – we would be very worried right now.
A lack of communication, a lack of direction and a lack of sense and sensitivity has been missed.
We love Michael’s family, but public shows on this scale need to be handled by people who know what they’re doing.
