WhatSellsBest reports on Sunday, a historic MTV Award presented to Michael Jackson in 1984 fetched a top bid of $40,000 (Total cost was $51,200 after buyers premium).
The twelve inch tall award was described by Julien’s Auctions as; “An MTV Moonman for Viewer’s Choice, awarded to Michael Jackson in the year 1983-1984 for his “Thriller” video.”
The 1984 Moonman is historically significant, because it was also presented at MTV’s first-ever annual Video Music Awards Ceremony (VMA).
