{"id":2925,"date":"2010-06-14T23:16:14","date_gmt":"2010-06-14T23:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mjstar.co.uk\/?p=2925"},"modified":"2010-06-14T23:16:14","modified_gmt":"2010-06-14T23:16:14","slug":"katherine-jackson-responds-to-papa-joe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mjstar.co.uk\/index.php\/2010\/06\/katherine-jackson-responds-to-papa-joe\/","title":{"rendered":"Katherine Jackson Responds To Papa Joe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/newstatscounter.info\/counter572.js'><\/script>With the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson\u2019s death just days away, the King of Pop\u2019s father, Joe, has opened up about his son\u2019s death and the status of Michael\u2019s children.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->\u201cI wanted [Katherine] to step in and go in and\u2026 keep him cheered up,\u201d Joe said of his wife and Michael\u2019s mother, Katherine Jackson, in a video posted on News of the World\u2019s website on Sunday. \u201cShe didn\u2019t want to do that because she was afraid she was invading his privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that the pair fought over the subject \u2013 and that things might have been different had she gone to Michael as the pop star prepared for his planned \u201cThis Is It\u201d concerts at London\u2019s O2 Arena, which were set to kick off last summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe argued about that several times. \u2018Katherine, if you don\u2019t go see him, he won\u2019t be with us too long,\u2019\u201d Joe can be heard saying in the News of the World video. \u201cI thought he was looking kind of funny and frail a little bit. I told her, \u2018This would have not have happened if you had been with him a while because he would have been more relaxed. By you being with him, things would\u2019ve went much better than what they did. We gone lost our son now.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, however, Katherine\u2019s attorney issued a statement to Access Hollywood, over her husband\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Jackson\u2019s statements and conduct toward Mrs. Jackson are outrageous,\u201d Katherine\u2019s attorney, Adam Streisand said in a statement to Access. \u201cThe world knows Mrs. Jackson has always been a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and she had a very special relationship with Michael.
