We Are The World 25: Debut Fails To Hit Top Spot

The all star re-recording of Michael Jackson’s ‘We Are The World’ for Haiti relief has been blocked from the US No.1 spot by Ke$ha.

The ‘Tik Tok’ singer has taken the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, beating the charity single by one spot.

More than 80 musicians collaborated to record ‘We Are The World’, including Kanye West, Miley Cyrus and Pink to name a few.

The original 1985 hit was written by Jackson and Lionel Richie as a charity single for Africa relief. It became No. 1 in the charts three weeks after it debuted, so perhaps this new rendition will make it to the top in upcoming weeks.
