A one-off Michael Jackson tribute concert will be played in front of 70,000 fans at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium in October. The concert, scheduled for Saturday, October 8 and called the Michael Forever Tribute Concert, is supported the pop star’s family, and was announced tonight at a press conference in Los Angeles.
Announcing the concert, Jackson’s mother Katherine said:
“This is a world class event so I decided to join in. When I was told about the possible line-up I knew it would be an event fit for a king. I’d like to thank all the fans who have kept supporting us. Thank you all so much for keeping my son’s legacy alive.”
Sister La Toya said: “Just giving a tribute so someone so talented is amazing. He’s an entertainer that no one could ever hold a candle to.
“This tribute will be spectacular. I know Michael would appreciate it.”
The full line-up will be announced through the event’s website before a press conference in London on Wednesday, August 3, before tickets go on sale on the website the following day.
