After paying tribute to the Beatles with its Fab Four-themed Love, Montreal’s famed Cirque du Soleil troupe of acrobatic performers is now taking on the King of Pop.
Michael Jackson The Immortal launches in Cirque’s hometown Montreal on October 2 and will travel to 47 cities around North America through July 17 in a splashy tribute filled with the music and iconic moves of Michael Jackson. Organizers announced that the show will tour the rest of the globe, but dates and details are not yet available.
“The creative force of 10 cutting-edge choreographers brings complexity and depth as we work together with the performers to bring Michael Jackson’s music to life,” stated a press release on August 29.
The tour is deemed the largest yet for a Cirque du Soleil production and promises to deliver “a riveting fusion of visuals, dance, music, and fantasy that immerses audiences in Michael’s creative world and literally turns his signature moves upside down.”
