Cirque du Soleil said it was “overwhelmed” by record demand today after tickets went on sale for its spectacular new Michael Jackson show.
Thousands of people logged on to the troupe’s website to register for a “pre-sale” for The Immortal World Tour, which comes to the O2 Arena on 12 October.
A spokesman for Cirque du Soleil said: “We have been overwhelmed by new members registering to buy tickets for the Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour following the announcement this morning that the show will play The O2 Arena in London this October.
“The O2 Arena and Michael Jackson have a special significance given Michael had been due to play there [before his death]. The reaction to the show worldwide has been amazing and judging by reaction to tickets already, Michael’s UK fans cannot wait to experience his music and dancing again.”
